Christine and Christian are from Austria and Australia. Christian (the Australian) loves Schnitzel. Christine (the Austrian) has grown to love Vegemite. So as you can imagine, it is a match made in heaven.
They met at Harvard Business School, fell in love, moved to San Francisco (where she worked as a management consultant at Bain, and he worked as a product manager at LinkedIn) and then one day decided it was time for something new. So in June 2014 they left their jobs and embarked on an epic around the world trip. They began this blog because they hope that through their travels they will have some stories worth telling.
Fast forward a few years to today. Christine and Christian returned to the Bay Area, embarked on new professional adventures, had two beautiful children – Bastiaan and Lea – and continue their adventures as a family of four.

Hello Christine and Christian,
I love your story, though am daunted by the thought of traveling with young kids! Am also a traveler, including 5 years (2009-2014) on a (power) boat with my husband and two cats, and SCUBA diving in remote places (including initially with my teenage daughter).
Christian, I was looking at your bio on GlassDoor (love the mission statement) as part of my research for a small group of senior women (all in CA except me) who became alarmed by how women’s progress had stalled (3 years ago), and the pay gap widened. We call ourselves the Gender Equity Accelerator (no website yet). Our goal is to identify external leverage to pressure companies to make work fair (to quote Iris Bohnet). Currently, we’re applying for fiscal sponsorship, so that we can fund raise. Our goal is to have a convening in November. I’d like to include you. We have a proposal that I could send you.
As a former recruiter I had thought that one approach would be to urge recruiting platforms like yours, to include a company’s workplace (diversity) data, and that might encourage companies to improve theirs. Only to find you are doing just that already (duh). Am so impressed that you have that data, and a rating, on GlassDoor.
I don’t want to take more of this personal space (and time) but as we make progress toward our November target of a convening, I’d like to keep you posted on our progress.
All the best, Linda

That’s beautiful story and family picture. Where is this picture taken? Stumpy Meadows Lake or somewhere in Foresthill area?
